The hay is in the barn. It’s a phrase often used in sports performance, but this week, it resonates more than ever with Team DLPT. After months of gruelling sessions, strategy calls, and relentless discipline, our final preparation for the Turf Winter Festival is officially complete.
The hard work is done. The miles are banked. The weights have been lifted.
The Road to Farnborough
Preparing for a Winter Festival is never easy. It means training through the darkest, coldest months of the year. It means 6 AM starts at DLPT in Koru Gum in Bishop’s Stortford when the sun hasn’t risen, and evening sessions when you’d rather be on the sofa.
But for the last few months, we haven’t just been training; we’ve been building.
We have focused on the details that separate a good team from a great one: communication, transition speed, and the mental fortitude to keep moving when the lungs are burning. We’ve trusted the process through the early mornings and the late nights, pushing the standards of what our athletes are capable of.
The Main Event: Turf Winter Festival
This weekend, Team DLPT heads to the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre.
This isn’t just another competition; it is the biggest indoor fitness event of the year. We will be joining over 5,000 athletes and thousands of spectators in a state-of-the-art facility overlooking the private jet runway. The atmosphere is going to be electric, the workouts are going to be brutal, and the competition will be fierce.
It is the ultimate test of the hybrid athlete, strength, endurance, power, and teamwork, all tested under the lights.

The Switch: From Grinding to Executing
Now, the physical work stops. There is nothing left to gain from one more heavy squat or one more sprint interval. The focus shifts entirely to recovery and mindset.
The goal now is to recover, refuel, and let the training take over. We are tapering down to ensure that when that first buzzer goes off on Saturday morning, every member of Team DLPT is firing on all cylinders.
We aren’t going there to just take part. We are going there to represent the badge, to support one another, and to leave absolutely everything out on the turf.
Follow the Action
To everyone who has supported the team during this block—thank you. To the members travelling down to support: bring the noise.
